Scope items to put in writing
- Fixture schedule: each tub, shower, toilet, vanity, faucet, valve and drain included.
- Rough-in changes: what water, drain or vent work is planned.
- Materials: what the plumber supplies and what the owner or contractor supplies.
- Access: who opens and restores walls, floors or ceilings.
- Project stages: expected rough-in, inspection/testing and final connection visits.
- Other trades: waterproofing, tile, drywall, electrical, glass and cabinetry responsibility.
- Unknown conditions: how concealed deterioration or incompatible work is documented and approved.
- Exclusions: anything visible in the finished room that is not part of the plumbing quote.
Compare scope before price.
Two totals are not comparable if one includes fixture supply, access and return visits while the other assumes those items are handled elsewhere.
