What this case proves

Raccoon Plumbing documented a real sequence involving an older bathtub/shower control, internal assembly removal, access to concealed connections, a replacement valve body and reassembly. It does not prove another home needs the same repair.

01

Document the existing control

The visible trim and operating symptom establish the starting point, but not the complete concealed condition.

02

Remove and inspect the internal assembly

The removed assembly helps identify whether a serviceable internal repair is practical and what the body condition reveals.

03

Create controlled access

The old body and concealed connections required working access. Access decisions are project-specific and should include a restoration plan.

04

Position and connect the replacement body

The replacement body is shown connected within the opening. Alignment, connection condition and support are assessed at the actual site.

05

Reassemble and check operation

The control and trim were reassembled and the fixture was checked after the plumbing work. Finish restoration is a separately defined scope item.
